Announcing our new website - Crossbar
For years we have dealt with one question over and over again. The question is different but it goes something like this:
Person wanting to find out about hockey: "Common thing to ask which I couldn't find on the website?"
Board members / parents in the know: "Did you check the website?"
We've also had a lot of issues behind the scenes with our old platform that made it more difficult for us to do business, took a lot of time, a lot of extra communication, and while it had its positives could definitely use a new coat of paint. After reviewing products, the board landed on the tool you are reading now called Crossbar.
Problems we believe Crossbar will solve
- Simplify finding information about our programs and information
- Improve board transparency via discovery of information
- USA Hockey Number / documented form management
- Tryout bid / registration process of team creation
- Simplified scheduling of ice slots from Pegula to SCYIHA
- Make managing the website and it's content easier for staff to keep it up to date
- A modern, mobile responsive layout that looks great no matter what you view it on
- Improving the time it takes to build and transition to new seasons
Additional features we'll get as a result of switching to Crossbar
- Reduced fees if using an e-check / checking account option when paying
- Built in tech support by clicking the chat bubble in the lower right to reduce strain on our staff
- Unified calendar to see all things happening at the rink on all teams and drop in programs
- Easier to use team app with more robust features including rosters, stats, and a communication board just for the team
- Ability to run our tournament through the website
- News section to help with transparency and community
- Volunteer management handled through game-day in the app
